About Us

About Us

We created the Greyhound Hub with the aim of building a robust resource hub that is useful for all greyhound owners, both new and old. Our guidance is primarily aimed at owners based in the UK, however there is plenty of advice to benefit owners everywhere.

Why we started the Greyhound Hub

After adopting our own ex-racer, Winston, we felt overwhelmed by all of the information which is out there - and at the same time, struggled to find the information we needed when we needed it. There are some amazing greyhound charities and communities out there, but the advice can be fragmented or buried in obscure forum threads from 10+ years ago.

What we do

We create helpful resources based on our own experience as greyhound owners. We also scour abandoned blogs, community Facebook groups, Reddit threads, and more…so you don’t have to. We speak to members of the greyhound community to lean on their experience and expertise, so that we can share that with the world. Wherever we source information from elsewhere, this is credited to the original owner or contributor. You can read more about our editorial policy here.

Who we are

We don’t represent a rescue or rehoming centre. We’re not a business or shop. We don’t represent any racing kennels or breeders. We’re just two people who love greyhounds and want to share all of the knowledge we’ve accumulated!

We also both work in SEO (search engine optimisation), which basically means we like websites and figuring out how to surface the right information for people when they’re searching for stuff online. So this website started as a bit of a side hobby, using our professional experience to support a cause we’re both passionate about.

FAQs

A lot of our information stems from lived experience of owning an ex-racing greyhound. However, we acknowledge that we are relatively new to the sighthound cult, therefore we always carry out research for topics we are less familiar with. This includes scouring rescue websites, online forums, medical journals, and speaking with other members of the community at regular sighthound meetups. For more information, check out our editorial policy.

No, we don’t represent any greyhound charity, rescue or rehoming centre. The Greyhound Hub is 100% independent. However, we’d love to platform other members of the sighthound community if they have something helpful to share! Feel free to get in touch, whether you’d like to contribute to any articles or have a useful resource that you’d like us to publish.

We’re based in the UK, so our guidance on things like rescue organisations and laws and legislation is UK-focused - but much of our general advice on settling in, training and daily life applies to greyhounds and their people anywhere.

Across our content, we will highlight where international readers should conduct further research, for example in relation to breed-specific muzzle laws, lead legislation, and the greyhound adoption process.
